- [Willem Janszoon Blaeu ; Jodocus Hondius]. Relief shown pictorially. Coordinates approximate and based on Greenwich meridian. Bar scale note: "Horae itineris 24 stadiorum 1000 passuum." Shows topography, drainage, islands off coast, tribal boundaries, travel routes, settlements, places of historical interest. Features illustrations of sea monsters and a ship. Decorative cartouche with holy men and dogs. Descriptive text throughout. The map was drawn by Jodocus Hondius the younger, who died in 1629, before its publication. Blaeu bought the plate and replaced Hondius' name with his own. He included the map in his first atlas and all further editions leaving the date 1629. Appears in Blaeu's Atlantis appendix, Amsterdam, 1630.
