- Antonio Lafreri. Relief shown pictorially. Figurative illustration of troups, war scenes, and war ships. Coordinates approximate and based on Greenwich meridian. A graphic depiction for news reporting of the Turkish forces attacking the Christian defenders of Malta during the 1565 Siege. Lafreri takes the story of the 1565 Siege a stage further. Here the Christian troops are attacking the Turks. A hasty, but lively engraving. There is a later impression by Hendrik van Schoel, Rome, 1602. SW at the top. Mason and Willis 5; LDOSJ: 1308.
