Title page of text: Accompaniment to Gibbes' new map of the gold region of California. The preface to the text provides a list of authorities used to construct the map. The text provides a description of California and a brief guide. Collector's notes: Streeter states that this is first map to show county boundaries. Jackson's 1851 map also shows county boundaries.
