Henry Gannett, chief cartographer ; E.M. Douglas, topographer in charge ; triangulation and topography by R.H. Chapman. Relief shown by contours, hachures, and spot heights. Contour interval 20 ft. "Datum is mean sea level based upon elevation of bridge 87 of NPRR taken at 55l6 feet." Title in lower right margin: Butte, Mont. Shows roads, railroads, trolley lines, buildings, tunnels, townships sections, triangulation stations, shafts and hoists, prospect holes and water features. "Surveyed in 1895, revised and extended in 1903 by R.H. Chapman." Title of earlier printing: Butte special map. On verso: "Description of the topographic map of the United States," with conventional signs.
