A page (page 229) of text appears on the map verso with these headings : "Moscoviae petzoraregio" and "Czeremissi, et mordua populi." This map of the Tartar Empire includes Arctic regions, but lacks Alaska, which had not been discovered yet. The imaginary Straits of Anian (Northwest Passage) are shown. California is depicted as an island. East Asia and the North Pacific are very prominent.
