- Description:
- Large folio-sized double hemisphere map. California has an indented northern coastline and has only C. St Lucas named. S. of Annian to the north. Four smaller map projections are included, one in each corner. The maps at top left and lower left both show California as a peninsula. Inscribed as follows in the title cartouche: Most Humbly Inscribed to his Royal Highness George Prince of Wales. The title cartouche sits above the two hemispheres and is surrounded by women depicting the continents. Lightly engraved outlines of continents and islands can be seen throughout Pacific Ocean and around the eastern coast of Africa.
