Description:

a Iohanne Baptista Homanno. Large scale map of the Netherlands with a small globe beneath the title cartouche showing California as an island. The globe centers on the Pacific with the island partially obscured by Mercury’s outstretched arm. Published in a collection of maps without a title page by Johann Baptist Homann and Heirs, with various maps dated from 1720-1771. Nordenskiöld 1, 91(16).
