- Leather binding. Cover title in gilt. First 4 and last 4 pages blank (included in page description). Relief shown by hachures; depths shown by bathymetric soundings. Coordinates approximate and based on Greenwich meridan. Charts have latitudinal and longitudinal lines, compass roses, bar scales, and seals: United States Coast Survey. Show coastlines, topography, vegetation, drainage, shoals, water routes, depths, anchorages, city plans, roads, lighthouses, observatories, and profile views. Descriptive text on charts includes information on currents, dangers, tides, soundings, sailing, lighthouses, and "Moon's declination."
