"The 100-foot contours are based on topographic maps of certain quadrangles by the U.S. Geological Survey, on Ashley's map of part of southern Indiana (Plate I, 27th Report, Indiana Geological Survey), and on railroad altitudes supplemented by aneroid readings." Map has date "1914" below title block. In upper right margin: Monograph LIII Plate III.
