- from the large survey by Claude Joseph Sauthier ; Engraved by Wm. Faden, 1777. Relief shown pictorially and by hachures. Coordinates approximate and based on Greenwich meridian. Scales in "British Statute Miles 69 1/2 to a Degree." and "Canadian Leagues about 2 1/2 Miles each." Shows the Canadian-United States border from Lake Ontario along the St. Lawrence River to 45° N. latitude, east to the Connecticut River, and northeast along the "Height of the land." Coverage of areas away from the boundary is focused upon the southern portion of Quebec and the northern portion of New York State, including a portion of the area which later became Vermont Inscribed to "Major General John Burgoyne, this map is by His Permission, most respectfully Inscrib'd by his most oblig'd & devoted Humble Servant, Wm. Faden." Includes "Remarks" about the survey of the St. Francis River.
