Wagner 291; Wagner/Sp. SW 12a; Tooley/107 (Plate 15); Leighly 1; Nordenskiöld 3,970 and 971; Burden 195 (Plate 195) and 200 (Plate 200); Church 173 and 199. The earliest representation of California as a large island on map of Western Hemisphere on bottom half of title page. No place names.Title center page with crest above and 8 illustrations of native gods, figures and structures on sides. Map following [page]2 shows California as a peninsula.
