The map also shows portions of the Orange Free State, the Cape Colony, Natal [KwaZulu-Natal], Rhodesia [Zimbabwe], Zululand, Tongaland, the British Protectorate [Botswana] and Portuguese territory [Mozambique]. Relief shown by shading. Coordinates approximate and based on Greenwich meridian. Bar scale on map given in "English Statute Miles." Legend at bottom right. "The compilers are greatly indebted to Johann Rissik Esq. Surveyor General of the S.A.R. for much valuable information and advice." "The Freestate portion of the map is reduced from Herfst's map of the O.Freestate. Swaziland is compiled from actual surveys and Miller's map."
