Issued in untitled and undated work as one of five bound maps, including “Mappa totius mundi” by Georgio Christophoro Kiliano [Kilian] and maps of Africa, Asia and Europe. Title cartouche with added figure to its right and rectangular package behind monkey. German text discussing early explorations on map verso. Nordenskiöld 3,838 & 884 (State 1). California as large island on second Sanson model, with many coastal place names and mountain chain in the north. "TERRA ESONIS" to northwest, with peninsula labelled "Anian". Title cartouche (lower left) with monkey to left and bird to right. Weigel's map entitled "Novi Orbis sive Totius Americæ cum adiacentibus Insulis Nova exhibitio." is identical, except for title cartouche.
