Compass rose, rhumb lines, figurative illustration of ship in inset, coats of arms. Shows topography, drainage, cities and towns. Decorative cartouches. Maltese archipelago, with a dramatic inset of an Order ship and vanquished Turks. Plan of Valletta and Three Cities: with large panel containing the coats-of-arms of Grand Masters from the founder Gerard to Antonio Manoel de Vilhena (1722-1736), the 65th Grand Master and 23rd in Malta. Above this inset is a Grand Master, with cherubs, over spaces for more coats-of-arms. From an early edition of Atlas Novus copied from Nicolas de Fer, whom Seutter acknowledges in the title. Seutter served his apprenticeship with Homann in Nuremburg. Inset map: plan of Valletta and its harbours at the lower left corner of sheet.
