This polygon shapefile depicts boundaries where residential development is excluded in the Coastal Zone of the County of Santa Cruz, California as detailed in the Santa Cruz County Code 13.20.071. This Coastal Zone was defined by the California Coastal Act of 1976, Division 20 of the California Public Resources Code, as the Coastal Zone. In Santa Cruz County, this zone extends about five miles inland from the North Coast. From Natural Bridges to 41st Avenue in Capitola, it extends about 0.6 miles inland. From Capitola to the south County boundary, it extends to Highway One.
