- Abstract
- The parcel layer is attached to the Nevada County Assessor's Roll bi-monthly in order to maintain current attribute data and parcel geometry changes due to parcel splits and merges. Parcels with multiple owners are represented by overlapping polygons.
- Purpose
- The parcels layer provides a visual representation of tax parcels in Nevada County, California. It also serves as the layer of reference for most of the political and service districts in the county Geographic Information System. The parcel geometry provides a rough representation of parcels in relation to one another and to district boundaries. Please see the Use Limitation section in relation to other GIS layers.

The County of Nevada assumes no responsibility arising from use of this information. THE MAPS AND ASSOCIATED DATA ARE PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Before making decisions using the information provided on this map, contact the Nevada County Public Counter staff to confirm the validity of the data provided. The parcels layer is a topologically clean polygon layer that covers the entire County of Nevada. The geometry was created in the 1990s from paper maps, then rubber sheeted to construct a seamless parcel layer. The geometry of the parcels is often severely distorted. True curves are not represented, and missing or extra courses are not uncommon. The parcel data IS NOT intended to be used to find property boundaries, in overlays with aerial photos or street centerline. The parcel layer is the base for all political and service districts, so it ISappropriate to overlay these layers.
